Pastor David Dawson Sr. Bio

 

Pastor David Dawson Sr. was born in Hurtsboro Alabama to the late Mr. Will & Mrs. Carrie Dawson of Hurtsboro, Alabama.

Pastor Dawson attended local area Public School and is a graduate of Russell High School.

Shortly after his graduation, Pastor Dawson moved to Lima Ohio, became a member of the New Morning Star Baptist Church, where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior, and served faithfully under the leadership of the late Pastor C.M. Manley.

He attended Northwestern Business College (Major in Business Administration).

Pastor Dawson then moved to Atlanta Georgia in 1983 and became a member of Israel Baptist Church and served under the leadership of the late William Smith, and then was ordained to Deaconship.

He attended South Dekalb Community College (Major in Computer Science).

Having received his call into the ministry and accepting it on February 15,1990 at the age of 27.

Pastor Dawson reunited with his first mentor the late Pastor C.M Manley of the New Morning Star Baptist Church in Lima Ohio. And serve under his leadership as a son in the ministry.

Through his mentor’s Tutelage he received seminary training, including Outreach Ministries such as Spiritual Counseling, Evangelist Work, Missionary Work and Prison Ministries.

The Holy Spirit led Pastor Dawson to return home to carry out the Great Commission of the Lord.

He became a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church on October 19, 1995, under the leadership of the late Pastor Jessie Gary. Since then, the Lord has taken his ministry to a higher level.

Pastor Dawson has been blessed to have pastored three different congregations, Mount Missouri Baptist Church in Hurtsboro Alabama. From 1996 to 1999. Mount Olive Baptist Church of Hatchechubbee Alabama. From 1996 to 2006. He is currently pastoring New Mount Zion Baptist Church of Columbus Georgia. Since August of 2008.

Pastor Dawson have been married to his lovely wife Debbie Dawson for 26 years. Together, they serve as Pastor and First Lady of the New Mount Zion Baptist Church,

They are proud parents of three beautiful children Dontrall, Dasinee, and David Jr. Better known as D.J.

One of Pastor Dawson’s favorite scriptures in the Bible is found in the book of Jeremiah 23:4. Says and I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking saith the Lord.

He then went on to relocate to Atlanta Georgia and attended South Dekalb Community College (Computer Science) and became a member of Israel Baptist Church and served under the leadership of Pastor William Smith and then was ordained to deaconship. February 15,1990 the Lord elevated Pastor Dawson and anointed him to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and he served as an associate minister under the leadership of his first mentor Pastor C.M. Manley of the New Morning Baptist Church in Lima Ohio.

Through his mentor's Tutelage he received training in the area of Outreach Ministries such as Spiritual Counseling, Evangelist work, and Missionary work. He also received training in the area of Prison Ministries. After relocating back home, Pastor Dawson joined the New Mt Zion Baptist Church in Columbus. Georgia and served under the leadership of Pastor Jessie Gary.

In addition to serving in various Capacities of leadership throughout the years. The Lord has taken his ministry to a higher level. He was called to pastor three different congregations, Mt Olive Baptist Church, Mt Missouri Baptist in Alabama, and currently pastoring New Mt Zion Baptist Church of Columbus Georgia. Since August 2008. He is supported in ministry by his wife Debbie Dawson, their three children Dontail, Dasinee, and David Dawson jr. Pastor Dawson is passionate about Christ, His words and His presence!
